Assistant

Ask legal questions in natural language. Get structured, cited answers in seconds.

Overview

What is the Assistant?

The GenIA-L Assistant is a conversational AI built specifically for legal professionals. Unlike general-purpose chatbots, it understands legal context, references relevant sources, and formats its responses for immediate use in legal work.

You can ask the Assistant to draft contract clauses, analyze case law, summarize regulations, compare legal positions, or transform any existing text into a different format or tone. It maintains context across a full conversation so you can refine and iterate naturally.

The Assistant supports six languages and lets you choose between multiple large language models (LLMs) — each with different strengths for speed, depth, or reasoning — so you can match the tool to the task.

💬

Multi-turn conversation

Build on previous messages. The Assistant remembers context within each session so you can refine answers iteratively.

🌍

6 languages

Work in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, or Dutch. Switch language mid-conversation without losing context.

🤖

LLM selector

Choose between available models (GPT-4o, Claude, Mistral…) to balance speed, depth, and reasoning for your task.

✂️

Output transformation

Instantly reformat any response: expand to a detailed memo, compress to a summary, or change the tone for client delivery.

How to use

1

Type your legal question

Enter your question in the chat bar. Be as specific as possible — include jurisdiction, relevant dates, and the legal domain for best results.

e.g. "What are the notice requirements for fixed-term contract termination in French law?"

2

Select content scope

Choose whether the Assistant should search across your uploaded Files, your organization's Library, or rely on its general legal knowledge.

3

Choose a practice area

Filter the context to a specific legal domain (Labour Law, Corporate, Compliance, etc.) to get more precise, relevant answers.

4

Select an LLM model

Pick the model that fits your task. Use a fast model for quick lookups and a deep-reasoning model for complex analysis.

5

Read and transform the response

Review the AI response. Use the transformation controls to switch between Detailed mode (full memo) and Summary mode (bullet points).

6

Use the output in your work

Copy the formatted response, export it, or paste it directly into your document editor. Cite the sources the Assistant referenced.

Tips & best practices

Provide context upfront

The more specific your question, the better the answer. Include the jurisdiction, the legal domain, and what you already know.

Use follow-up questions

Treat the Assistant like a junior lawyer. Ask it to expand on a point, cite specific articles, or rewrite for a different audience.

Combine with Workflows

For recurring tasks (e.g. contract review), build a Workflow that chains multiple Assistant prompts automatically.
